Juliane Borchert
Professional, Fraunhofer Institut für Solare Energie Systeme und Uni Freiburg
I am a group leader at the Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems and the University of Freiburg. My research focuses on novel materials for solar cells that will make cheaper even more efficient solar cells possible. These will help us transition to a clean energy future. I am from Dresden, Germany and studied physics in Berlin and Halle (Saale) before doing my PhD at the University of Oxford followed by a Postdoc position in Cambridge. A physicist by training I now work in a highly interdisciplinary field together with chemists, material scientist, and engineers.

In a video conferencing call...

...I am happy to talk about my research.

...I can show live experiments or equipment, e.g. Solar Cell Research Lab with gloveboxes, test solar cells, etc.

...I am happy to answer questions about university and career-related questions.

...I am happy to moderate a discussion.

...I am happy to speak to others (e.g. to journalists, museums).
