PhD candidate, Otto-von-Guericke University, Magdeburg (Germany)
my name is Chris. To follow my personal and academic interests professionally, I switched from studying law to studying (cognitive) psychology and cognitive neuroscience. As a result, I am writing my PhD thesis ("Evaluating common high-dimensional models of cortical representational spaces for improving the power of neuroimaging-based clinical diagnostics) at the Department of Psychoinformatics in Magdeburg, Germany.
Due to my personal interests I got a wide range of knowledge regarding psychology, neuroscience and related fields like computer science, statistics/machine learning, philosophy of mind and the open science movement.
I am signing up here because I am very enthusiastic about my field and as much as I like to learn more everyday (it never gets boring!) I love to share my knowledge to enthuse lay persons regardless of their age.
In a video conferencing call...
...I am happy to talk about my research.
...I can show live experiments or equipment, e.g. fMRI scanner and psychological experiments using a (Hollywood) movie to explore perception, cognition, emotions, and similar mental states
...I am happy to answer questions about university and career-related questions.
...I am happy to speak to others (e.g. to journalists, museums).
