I studied physics but very early in my studies I was interested in applying physical laws to biology. After being in the lab for some years and doing research on synthetic biology I switched to science management. Now I work as the scientific coordinator for MaxSynBio a large research network of the Max Planck Society on synthetic biology: http://www.maxsxnbio.mpg.de/ I also engage for ecological sustainability in research and started a sustainability initiative in the Max Planck Society: https://www.nachhaltigkeitsnetzwerk.mpg.de/
