Rebecca Grier
Bachelor student, Farm Design
I study how people interact with technology and work with engineers to develop technology that is user friendly. I always wanted to be a scientist. In college I fell in love with psychology – the science of how people think and act. In college, I learned of human factors (aka usability, user experience, human-computer interaction, ergonomics) and knew that was what I wanted to do. I have had a varied career where I helped to design and evaluate lots of disruptive technology including broadband, smart phones, streaming video, augmented reality, self-driving cars. I have worked in telecommunication, defense, automotive, and medical device sectors. I also have worked for small businesses, fortune 500 corporations, think tanks, and the government.

...I am happy to moderate a discussion.

...I am happy to speak to others (e.g. to journalists, museums).
