PhD candidate, Universitätsklinikum Hamburg-Eppendorf & KU Leuven, Belgien
I am a psychologist with a particular interest in the psychosocial impact of living with a chronic illness, including experiences of stigma, resilience and quality of life.
After completing my bachelor's degree in psychology and a master's degree in cognitive and clinical neuroscience in the Netherlands, I decided to do a PhD in health psychology at KU Leuven, Belgium, on the topic of avoidance behaviour in acute and chronic pain.
I’m currently a research fellow at the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf where I work primarily on developing interventions against stigmatisation of people living with visible chronic skin diseases.
