Anne Wernicke
Professional, Universität Bielefeld
After spending six months in Australia I decided to study language acquistition in 2005. In 2009 I earned my bachelor’s degree in German as a Foreign/Second Language and English at the University of Bielefeld, my master’s degree in 2012. After working as a language teacher for German as a Forein Language in New Zealand and for German as a Second Language in Bielefeld, I returned to university in 2013 to join a project to develop a training programme to increase language sensitivity in vocational education. From 2015-2019 I was a lecturer in pre-service teacher education, preparing future teachers on how to facilitate the development of school literacy. Having earned my PhD in 2020, I am currently part of the collaborative project ComeIn, helping to build up an online platform for digital education tools to support pupils’ literacy development in German schools.
