Franziska Müller

Dr. Franziska Müller is a political scientist, rooted in the fields of International Relations theory and Global Environmental Governance. She is the leader of a research group on governance and political economy of energy transition in Southern Africa. As of March 2020 she'll be Professor of Global Climate Politics at the University of Hamburg. Franziska considers herself a researcher activist, rooted in the anti-nuclear and climate justice movement since the late 1990s. Her research covers the following topics: Global climate governance / global energy governance green finance flows green climate fund African energy politics EU-Africa relations just energy transition / energy justice / climate justice development studies / postcolonial studies climate justice movements She holds a Ph.D. in political science and a M.A. in political science and cultural anthropology. For research stays she visited South Africa, Botswana, Ghana, Zambia, the UK and the U.S. She is representative of the Section "Development Theory" of the German Political Science Association (DVPW). Since 2012 she is liasion lecturer for the Heinrich-Böll-Foundation. She serves as a reviewer for several journals, e.g. Journal of International Relations and Development, Third World Quarterly, Urban Studies, and the EU's Horizon 2020 program.
