About

Ring-a-Scientist is a platform where teachers can schedule video conferencing calls with researchers to get the latest science from the lab straight into the classroom.

Why?

Let’s use 21st century’s technology for 21st century’s education.

For Teachers

You are a teacher who wants to...

... pimp the curriculum with the latest science?

  ... diversify your teaching methods?

... show experiments that can’t be done in the classroom?

... share first hand information about studying science at university?

Contact one of our scientists to schedule a video call in one of your lessons. We are growing our network, but please get in touch via the contact form below and we will already find a scientist suitable for your needs.

We'll never share your email with anyone else.
Please comment on who you would ideally like to speak with and when / how long you would like to talk to the scientist. Which topic would you like to cover?

I can present a live electroencephalography (EEG) experiment, in which a human participant is exposed to sensory stimulation and the electrical activity of the brain is recorded on the scalp. I can then show how the recorded data is analyzed using tools from mathematics and computer science.

Join

You are a scientists who...

... wants to inspire the next generation?

... thinks outreach is important, but takes too much time?

... can show a laboratory or experiments, share your research or talk about studying science?

Join our network to be contactable by teachers to potentially offer a video call. When and how often you make yourself available is entirely up to you.

We'll never share your email with anyone else.
Please give some details on what exactly you could or would like to share with a class of students. Which experiments could you show? What are your main interests in science? What is your background?
